The Trail Went Cold - Episode 505 - Nori Amaya
October 31, 2009. Washington D.C.. After spending Halloween night frequenting some nightclubs, 38-year old Nori Amaya takes a taxi back to her apartment complex during the early morning hours. After not hearing from her for nearly two days, Nori’s siblings visit her apartment and discover that she has been strangled to death on her bed and the perpetrator has cut off her fingernails in an apparent effort to dispose of DNA evidence. While a male DNA profile is recovered from Nori’s body and used to exclude a number of men from her personal life, it cannot be matched with anyone and the crime remains unsolved. On this week’s episode of “The Trail Went Cold”, we explore the bizarre death of restauranteur and salsa dancer Nori Amaya, which has become known as “The Salsa Queen Murder”.
